Village idyll with playground and short family hikes from the Mesnerhof

Our beautiful Mesnerhof (at 826 m) is conveniently located, for a short walk in the village as well as for short and long hikes. Here with us in Rasa you are embedded in a friendly and idyllic village ambience. There are a couple of typical restaurants where you may drink a delicious cappuccino or have dinner. Our themed playground deserves a special mention! The “Apple Garden” is part of a family-friendly circular walking itinerary in South Tyrol to Naz and offers various play equipment (wooden apple as an observation tower, water playground, trampoline.) The Reiher Moss Biotope is a popular destination for children with an explorer spirit. All water lovers may visit the public swimming pool in Bressanone, the Alpinpool in Maranza or to Lake Issengo in Val Pusteria. For youngsters there are climbing and high-ropes courses, as well as the possibility of rafting on the rivers Isarco or Rienza.

Our leisure highlights for the warmer months!
Always a good idea!!

In spring, when the apple trees blossom, we recommend a leisurely hike without major climbs on the high plateau of Naz Sciaves. Around 70 km of excellently signposted hiking trails run through beautiful apple orchards and vineyards.

In summer, we recommend the best alpine hikes in South Tyrol on our local mountain, Mount Plose, with the theme trail for children “Woody Walk” or the alpine region Gitschberg-Val Giovo. However, you’ll also have the opportunity for the most beautiful hikes in South Tyrol.  Whether on a bicycle or on a MTB tour, on a summit tour or a lodge hike, the South Tyrolean mountain world is always enchanting!

Discover South Tyrol in autumn! There are many family-friendly hiking itineraries in South Tyrol. Would you like to combine your excursion with a delicious meal? Then you’ve come to the right place here in the Isarco Valley! The probably unique culinary tradition of Törggelen in South Tyrol, where you can discover the traditional South Tyrolean fare at the producing farms, is available here: barley soup, dumplings, bacon and cheese, spinach-filled ravioli, meat platters and delicious desserts are on the menu in combination with wine and juice.

Royal Blossom Festival

Our highlights
in the vicinity

In South Tyrol we love our mountains, the traditions and of course the related festivals. On May 1, at the time of the apple blossom, the Royal Blossom Festival takes place in Naz – and after the harvest in October, there is the Apple Festival. In summer, people gather at the festival ‘Sonnseitenfest’. Music and selected foods are not tourist attractions here, but authentically lived culture. Every two years in August, the Old Town Festival in Bressanone is a merry and popular attraction. Bressanone is a picturesque episcopal city with medieval-style facades and fabulous arcades that invite you to stroll and shop. The Bressanone Cathedral and the Episcopal Palace are just as popular destinations as the Novacella Monastery. For an excursion with children in South Tyrol, we would be happy to show you the way to Rodenegg Castle. How about a trip to the provincial capital Bolzano, to the fruit market or to the Ötzi Museum? For an inexpensive excursion, remember to take your advantage card  with you!
